Not everyone can take a whole week off. The good news: a few days can achieve a lot if you know what to expect. Here you find out what a short health break can do, where its limits are and which houses suit it.
- Two to four nights are often enough for a check-up or a real break.
- Fasting and Mayr cures need more time, usually seven nights or longer.
- A short stay is a good way to get to know a house.
What a short stay can do
In two to four nights you can switch off, sleep, move and leave your phone alone for once. Many check-ups are also done in a few days, because examinations, laboratory and doctors' consultations happen under one roof.
A short stay is also ideal for getting to know a house before committing to a whole week.
Where the limits are
Fasting and Mayr cures are designed for longer periods. The first days are often the hardest, and the recovery comes afterwards. That is why many houses offer such cures from seven nights only. A detox weekend can be a good start, but it does not replace a cure.
- Good in 2–4 nights: check-up, spa, sleep, movement
- Better with 7 nights: fasting, Mayr cure, Chenot
- Be honest: a weekend is a beginning, not a reset
Three days will not change your life, but they often change how you see it.
How to get the most out of it
Arrive early so you can already enjoy the first evening. Do not plan appointments for the day after you return. And do not try to do too much on site: two treatments and a long walk are better than a full calendar.
Who it suits
People with little holiday, anyone who wants a check-up, and anyone who wants to try things out before a longer cure.
Frequently asked questions
How many nights do I need at least?
Often two to three for a check-up, three to four for a noticeable break. Some houses have minimum stays, listed in the portraits.
Is a detox weekend worth it?
As a start and a break, yes. But do not expect the effect of a whole week's cure.
Is a short stay more expensive per night?
Sometimes, because packages are designed for longer stays. Compare the prices per night in the portrait.
Luxly does not provide medical advice. Whether a programme suits you is something to discuss with the house's medical team or your own doctor.
